Getting Ready for 4th Grade - Language Arts

This course is designed for students who have completed third-grade language arts. Students will strengthen their reading comprehension and fluency while enjoying captivating short stories, nonfiction articles, and reader’s theater. Vocabulary and grammar skills will be integrated with reading and writing.  Exploring the author’s purpose, students will write personal narratives, and create fiction and expository essays. Students will dive into research topics with visits to the touch tank. In addition to reading and writing, this interactive class will cultivate organizational and study skills which are paramount for success in fourth grade.
