Club Spotlight: OneLove Club

Meet Julia W. '25 and Lila K. '25, founders of the first OneLove Club in Southwest Florida. Their mission is to help educate students at school and in the community about healthy relationships.
The OneLove Club is an extension of the One Love Foundation, a national non-profit organization with the goal of ending relationship abuse and empowering young people with the tools and resources to identify the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships.

The One Love Foundation was founded in 2010 to honor the unnecessary and tragic death of Yeardley Love, a former lacrosse student at the University of Virginia, who was tracked down and killed by her former boyfriend.

In its first year, the OneLove Club is partnering with the Abuse Counseling & Treatment (ACT) Women's Shelter here in Fort Myers, lending their time to volunteer at ACT's thrift store and help run local clothing and food drives to benefit the women's shelter. They are also spearheading a student-led ACT campaign to help educate about healthy + unhealthy relationships.

Julia and Lila look forward to growing their newly-formed club over the next two years and welcomes anyone to join! The club meets twice monthly. You can learn more about the local chapter + see what are up to in the community by following them on Instagram @1lovecbury.
