Athlete of the Week: December 11-17, 2023
Congratulations to varsity soccer player Josh H. '26 on being selected as our Athlete of the Week for his performance during the last week of school in December.
The sophomore goalkeeper is continuing the Canterbury tradition of strong play at this key position. Josh made some crucial saves during the last week of school, December 11-15, 2023, helping the Cougars to a big 1-0 win over rival Bishop Verot on Friday, December 15, 2023.
"Josh's commitment and dedication to training has increased his confidence in key moment in big games, which is elevating the confidence and belief of the entire team," said head coach Jared Rust. "Our players are fighting for every inch of the pitch. Each and every one of them showed incredible character and attitude against Bishop Verot."
Josh and the Cougars shutout Seacrest Country Day School on Senior Night on Wednesday night. The team now turns their attention to Aubrey Rogers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Friday (January 11) at Aubrey Rogers in Naples.
The Cougars will be back at home on Thursday, January 11 as they host SFCA in the opening round of the Private 8 Championships.
