Athlete of the Week: April 29- May 5, 2024
Congratulations to varsity baseball player Evan T. '24 on being selected as our Athlete of the Week for the week of April 29- May 5, 2024.
The University of Miami commit went 5-for-8 at the plate with three home runs and seven runs batted in to help send the Cougars to the District Championship last week.
"Evan has been an amazing teammate and leader all year for us," said head baseball coach Frank Turco. "His play a the plate and behind the dish have kept the the team within striking distance every game this year.
The Cougar baseball team fell to Southwest Florida Christian Academy in the district finals, but received an at-large bid to keep their post-season hopes alive.
Canterbury drew the No. 6 seed in the FHSAA postseason, traveling to Seffner Christian Academy on Wednesday, May 8, for the region quarterfinals. The Cougars came our victorious, defeating the Crusaders 16-2. The team will now face Northside Christian on Saturday, May 10, for the region semifinals.
