Cougars Make Their Mark at North Port Invitational
Canterbury’s Varsity Track & Field team delivered impressive performances at the highly competitive North Port Invitational on March 28, setting personal records and earning valuable points.
Boys' Highlights
100 Meters: Mason J. ’25 clocked 11.61 seconds, setting a new personal record.
400 Meters: Gabe D. ’25 finished with a time of 56.18 seconds.
800 Meters: Mason J. ’25 continued his strong meet with a personal-best time of 2:07.20.
1600 Meters: Travis H. ’25 placed 8th with a time of 4:47.77, earning team points.
High Jump: Collin M. ’25 cleared 1.95m (6'4.75”) to win the event and set a new personal record—congratulations, Collin!
Long Jump: Joel S. ’28 recorded a jump of 5.03m (16'6").
Discus: Braden B. ’27 threw 19.63m (64'5").
Girls' Highlights
100 Meters: Cheyenne M. ’26 ran a season-best 13.26, finishing 11th. MacKenzie Molina ’25 finished in 14.03.
200 Meters: Jessica P. ’26 set a new personal record with a time of 31.37.
400 Meters: Cheyenne M. ’26 placed 5th with a season-best 1:01.45, earning team points. Carlie M. ’28 followed with a time of 1:03.54.
800 Meters: Gabriella O. ’28 recorded a season-best 2:40.26.
1600 Meters: Anna K. ’28 finished in 6:33.05, while Mia West ’25 crossed the line at 7:54.52.
High Jump: Ava W. ’27 secured 2nd place with a jump of 1.47m (4'9.75”), earning key points. Due to a mismeasurement, her actual jump was likely even higher!
Shot Put: Lydia K. ’27 threw 8.61m (28'3").
Discus: Lydia K. ’27 also placed 14th with a throw of 24.98m (81'11").
