Canterbury Welcomes New Members to the Cum Laude Society

On Monday, March 24, 2025, Canterbury School proudly inducted 16 accomplished seniors into the Canterbury Chapter of the prestigious Cum Laude Society, recognizing their outstanding scholastic achievements.
Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society honors excellence in secondary education, and this year’s ceremony celebrated the dedication and hard work of our students. The event began with a warm welcome from Head of Upper School Erin Smith, followed by Head of School Rick Kirschner’s inspiring keynote address.
Ms. Smith and Mr. Ian Cross then officially inducted the following students into the 2025 class of Cum Laude Society members:

The ceremony concluded with a reading of Ithaka by C.P. Cavafy, delivered by Dr. Ron Young—a fitting tribute to the journey of academic excellence these students have undertaken. Congratulations to our new members! Their achievements continue to inspire us all.
