Congratulations to track and field athlete Joslyne D. '26 on being selected as this week's Athlete of the Week for the week of May 6-12, 2024.
The sophomore standout excelled at the FHSAA regional competition, qualifying for the 1A State Championships in all four events in which she entered. Joslyne brought home gold in the 100m hurdles (14.77s), anchored the 4x100m relay team to a first-place finish, and qualified in the long jump (2nd) and 200m (4th).
"Joslyne has led our girls track and field team to numerous successes this spring," said head coach Dan St. Gean. "Together with her teammates, she exemplifies our team's motto Rooted to Rise. We are excited to see what is to come for Joslyne."
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Joslyn and her six teammates traveled to the University of North Florida for the FHSAA 1A Track and Field State Championships. There she placed in all four events she participated in. Joslyne brought home silver in the long jump (18'6") and 4x100 relay (48.70), bronze in the 100m hurdles (14.87), and finished eighth overall in the 200m (25.56).
