Canterbury Swim and Dive: Rising Team Poised for Future Success
Coach Alicia Raymond
The future of Canterbury Swim and Dive looks exceptionally bright! With the all too familiar challenges of weather all outdoor fall sports face, the young Canterbury Swim and Dive team is rising above mother nature and off-campus practices.
The 24-member team consists primarily of Middle School students, with several Upper School students, who are a solid foundation for the team, led by senior captain Addie B. ’25. All, however, compete against other local high school teams, meeting the challenge of larger and older competition as well. With four meets completed so far this season, the girls’ team was able to win against Palmetto Ridge, with impactful swims from Alexandria H. ’29, Chloe L. ’30, Olivia R. ’27, Natalia R. ’27, Olivia S. ’26, and Chloe S. ’30.
On the diving side, Canterbury’s team continues to have powerful competition from Chloe S. ’30, Lex S. ’30, and Ava W. ’27.
The boys' team has strong representation from Soven D. ’29, Nate H. ’31, Ashvik P. ’31, Sam R. ’31, Colin S. ’29, and Norbi H. ’26, all who continue to improve and drop significant time despite an irregular practice schedule. Recently, the team competed at the Private 8 Meet where Chloe L. ’30 won the 50 free event and divers Chloe S. ’30, Lex S. ’30, and Ava W. ’27 took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place respectively. Colin S. ’29, being the sole male swimmer representation from Canterbury earned the team seven points.
With their proven talent and determination, the young Canterbury Swim & Dive team is poised to make a significant impact in the very near future.
