Alyssa K. '25 Wins Love, Goodwill, and Trust Essay Award

Congratulations to Alyssa K. '25 on recently winning the Love, Goodwill, and Trust Essay Award.
In just its second year of inception, the purpose of this essay competition is to encourage students to reflect on the core values of Canterbury. In addition, the competition aims to foster student growth in communication and expression. For the competition, students were asked to write an essay reflecting on what the school’s core values of Love, Goodwill, and Trust mean to them.

In her essay, Alyssa shares: "The words love, goodwill, and trust have been ingrained in my brain for just around 4,600 days. These are three powerful words that have stuck with me for the past 13 years as a
Canterbury student and will continue to be so important well beyond my high school days. The
impact of each word has fluctuated, as my 4-year-old definitions are significantly different from
my 16-year-old definitions. However, the definition of each has impacted me differently
throughout each section of Canterbury, gaining new perspectives from past and present teachers."

Dr. Collins presented Alyssa with the award for her winning essay during assembly on May 21, 2024. The award includes a $500 Canterbury credit for tuition and/or activities.
