Canterbury Earns Platinum 2023 AP School Honor Roll Recognition
Canterbury School is proud to share that we have earned PLATINUM recognition on the 2023 AP School Honor Roll! The Advanced Placement School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results and broadening access for students.
Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on their ability to increase their school’s college-going culture, provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximize college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
The criteria for PLATINUM schools include:
Expanding your school's college culture by enabling 80 percent of your Class of 2024 to experience one AP course before graduating.
Assisting with college affordability by enabling 50 percent of your Class of 2024 to earn college credit by earning an AP Exam score of 3.
Optimizing student's college readiness by creating opportunities for 15 percent of your Class of 2024 to take a total of five APs across their high school years, with at least one taken in 9th or 10th grade.
College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Canterbury School is proud that our school currently offers 32 AP courses.
Taking AP courses demonstrates to college admissions officers that students have sought the most challenging curriculum available to them, and research indicates that students who score a three or higher on an AP Exam typically experience greater academic success in college and are more likely to earn a college degree than non-AP students.
