Track and Field Athletes Finish Top 5 in the State

Seven Canterbury Track and Field student-athletes traveled to the University of North Florida to compete at the FHSAA 1A State Track and Field Championships on Wednesday, May 15.
The Cougars medaled in six of seven events and the girls team finished sixth overall as a team, the best finish of any Southwest Florida school. 

Joslyne D. '26 closed out her sophomore campaign with a bang, placing in all four events she competed in. She brought home second place in the long jump (18'6") and 4x100 relay, finished third overall in the 100m hurdles (14.87), and secured an eighth-place finish in the 200m (25.56). 

The 4x100m relay team (Cheyenne M. '26, Ellie M. '25, Alex T. '25, Joslyne D. '26) set another personal and school record en route to a second-place finish of 48.70. 

High jumpers Ava W. '27 and Collin M. '25 represented Canterbury well in their first trip to the state championships. Ava jumped to a third place finish (1.57m), while Collin brought home fifth place (1.82m).
