Canterbury Middle School Hosts Honor Assembly

This week, Middle School students came together for a meaningful reflection on Canterbury’s Honor Code during a special assembly. Held at the start of each semester, the Honor Assembly emphasizes the importance of making responsible choices, exercising good judgment, and upholding strong character.
The Honor Code reads:
"I will act honorably, respecting myself and others;
I will not lie, cheat, steal, or plagiarize."

During the assembly, a panel of Upper School Prefects led a discussion on key values such as honesty, respect, and the consequences of plagiarism. These student leaders are part of Canterbury’s Prefect System, an integral element of LIFT (Leadership Institute for Tomorrow), a school-wide initiative that integrates leadership development into both academic and everyday experiences for all students.

Modeled after prefect systems in traditional boarding schools, Canterbury’s Prefects serve as mentors, offering guidance and support to younger students as they navigate their academic and personal growth.
