Rob Bordley Visits Canterbury School

Canterbury School would like to thank Rob Bordley for returning to campus to visit with faculty, students, and our coaching staff.
Rob Bordley graduated from the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, in 1966. Following four years at Princeton University, where he earned All-Ivy League honors in lacrosse and football, he returned to Landon to teach history and coach lacrosse for close to 50 years. Bordley was recently recognized as “one of the most successful boys’ high school coaches ever” during his induction to the 2020 class of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Bordley retired from teaching and coaching in 2018 and he currently serves in the Development Office at Landon.

On Monday, January 22, 2024, Bordley spoke with our coaching staff during our seasonal Coaches Meeting. He discussed every facet of coaching with a focus on building relationships with student-athletes. He also met with our Middle School students during assembly as part of our Leadership Institute for Tomorrow (LIFT) program. He shared messages of resiliency and how failure is a great opportunity to learn. To wrap up his visit, Bordley enjoyed visiting our Success Principles Honors class in our Upper School.
